Since 1961, the UORFC has been one of leading collegiate rugby programs in the Pacific Northwest. We have established a very fine tradition of producing top notch gentlemen and rugby players.

Our Mission

We the rugby players of the University or Oregon Football Club, belong to the great worldwide brotherhood of rugby. As a member of the UORFC, we are collegiate athletes who are forever bonded to our fellow rugby players and will proudly represent the University of Oregon on and off the pitch. Beyond the excellent opportunity to form the bonds, play the game, and compete as a collegiate athlete, being a member of the UORFC, also affords us the opportunity for us to learn important life skills that can be carried forward into our future lives.

Our history

The UORFC was founded in 1961.

Rugby football is a game I can’t claim absolutely to understand in all its niceties, if you know what I mean. I can follow the broad, general principles, of course. I mean to say, I know that the main scheme is to work the ball down the field somehow and deposit it over the line at the other end and that, in order to squalch this programme, each side is allowed to put in a certain amount of assault and battery and do things to its fellow man which, if done elsewhere, would result in 14 days without the option, coupled with some strong remarks from the Bench.
