After a successful weekend in the Dennis Storer Classic Oregon was excited to get into the meat of their schedule and put on a show against UC Davis. UC Davis was ready for Oregon. Davis started strong and ended up winning 51-28.

The game started out hard fought and was mostly a field possession game. In the 10th minute junior Jeremy Gunderson collided heads with a teammate and was knocked out for the remainder of the game. The game changed at that moment and UC Davis gained all of the momentum. Davis repeatedly found numbers advantages and overlaps and exploited the Ducks for 44 straight first half points.

The second half was a different story. The Ducks looked considerably more comfortable and relaxed and started the half with a 12 nothing run. Unfortunately this momentum was stopped when Davis scored another try to go up 51-12 effectively putting the game out of reach.

Oregon wanted to go into the next game against Utah with some momentum so they continued to fight and ended the game on another 12-0 run. With some wonderful tries down the stretch including one as time expired, Oregon had multiple brilliant offloads leading to a try by Junior Wes Walters.

Following this tough upper division game Oregon will face another Division 1a team with a game against Pac 12 foe Utah. Hopefully the momentum picked up in the end of this game will bleed over into the next game.
